Cultural Rituals

Beautiful ritual: Take the book: The Moon Shines Down by Margaret Wise Brown and Linda Bleck, the book: Jesus Loves the Little Children by Debby Anderson, and the page below ("Shopping at Ethnic Markets") from Welcome Home by Melissa Placzek. Create a plethora of international traditions from the welcoming cultural ideas and lifestyles these books present! Then listen and learn to sing Jim Brickman's version of "I See the Moon" (on YouTube) ~ Bonnie Chandler

God, Coffee, and Donuts!

Driving home from taking and teaching classes, I saw a church sign that said, "God, Coffee, and Donuts!" Now that's the kind of church sign that beckons to me. It is full of warmth, welcoming, and hope!

Following that cozy train of thought, I curated some pictures of that kind of comfort. May we all take our cues and bless each other with the open arms that God, Coffee, and Donuts exude! :) ~ Bonnie Chandler, #comfortandyoga #wonderchapel

Power!

Power!

The most powerful I feel, the most happy, the most confident, the most that I am moving Heaven and Earth is when I pray and when I embrace grace.

The whoosh of grace overwhelms my soul, almost like the tummy fall sensation of a roller coaster. I take huge deep breaths and smile big! Grace can come in the tiniest or hugest ways .. the release of a forward fold, a kitty rubbing against my legs, an electrifying kiss from my hubby, realizing Jesus crowns me with loving-kindness and compassion every single second!

As grace fills me, prayer is a release of the power of a heart full of love. It takes my breath away through the outward extension of my own God-given power. It is what I can do, most importantly, to join forces with the Creator of the Universe for good! As my yoga teacher said last night, it is each of our small goodnesses and hopes that unite to make life beautiful! ~ Bonnie Chandler
